We’re very excited to see our ICON Art Series collaborator, Ronnie Tjampitjinpa, featured in an exhibition at Utrecht’s magnificent AAMU, Museum of contemporary Aboriginal art.

AAMU is one of Europe’s most important platforms for presenting new directions and development in the contemporary Indigenous art form.

AAMU’s current exhibition – ‘Storytellers’ – will be open until 9 June, 2013.

“In Storytellers, five of these important stories from Aboriginal culture are told through superb art works on canvas and bark. Dreamtime stories such as that of the Sugarbag Clan and powerful ancestral beings such as the Rainbow Serpent are depicted by internationally renowned artists who are at the top of contemporary Australian art. You will also see how the long storytelling tradition has been incorporated into recent art from the Australian cities.

As well as art works by artists including Vernon Ah Kee, Dorothy Napangardi and Ronnie Tjampitjinpa, several new additions to the museum’s collection will be on display for the first time.”

And, of course, our local partners have organised for Cygnett’s ICON Art Series: Ronnie Tjampitjinpa cases to be sold at the gift shop.
