Cygnett Environmental Policy
It’s your world. Recycle it.
Green is the new black. Far from following a fad or jumping on the environmental bandwagon, we’re implementing specific and ongoing measures to reflect Cygnett’s commitment to becoming a greener company.
Progressively, we’re reducing our impact on the environment. As a starting point, we’re focusing on two key areas; packaging and printing.
Cygnett packaging is recyclable and partially biodegradable, because we believe the digital world should care for the physical one. In 2012, Cygnett plans to become a signatory of the Australian Packaging Covenant, pledging commitment to environmentally responsible packaging that minimises the impact on the environment.
Here are a few shades of green we’ve taken on board so far:
Biodegradable case tray packaging
- The sugarcane-based pulp our case tray packaging is made of is a natural by-product of sugarcane processing, and is harvested from renewable sugarcane sources.
- Case trays biodegrade in 30 - 90 days.
- Our case tray packaging is non-toxic and sanitary, and complies with US Food & Drug Administration guidelines.
Recyclable PET packaging sleeves, blisters and hooks/tabs
The polyethylene terephthalate (PET) used for our sleeve and blister packaging is recyclable and should be recycled wherever facilities are available to do so. In addition, the PET hooks/tabs used in our packaging are removable and recyclable.
Recyclable cardboard packaging
Our cardboard packaging is made of paper sourced from sustainable and renewable plantations. Cardboard packaging is recyclable and should be recycled wherever facilities are available to do so.
Renewable-resource ink on cardboard packaging
Soybean-based ink is used for printing on our cardboard packaging.
Cygnett’s electronic products are RoHS-compliant, which means that, in line with best practice, the use of specific hazardous materials found in our electronic products are restricted.
How can you share in our green approach?
Whether it is electronic or otherwise in nature, once a Cygnett product reaches the end of its lifecycle, we’re committed to advising you on the best way to dispose of it in a green, environmentally friendly way, based on the country which you live in.
